SCI Engineering Receives National Recognition Award at ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards Gala

SCI Engineering (SCI) received a National Recognition Award at the 2025 American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Engineering Excellence Awards Gala. This prestigious recognition highlights our commitment to delivering innovative, community-focused engineering solutions that make a lasting impact. This award honors our work on the Dierbergs Crestwood Crossing Redevelopment Project, a transformative initiative that revitalized the former Crestwood Mall site into a thriving mixed-use community.

The redevelopment of the former Crestwood Mall into a vibrant mixed-use community featuring a Dierbergs Market, residential subdivision, and public amenities highlights innovation and urban renewal. SCI played a key role, providing environmental services, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing to ensure the project’s success. SCI addressed complex challenges, including elevation changes, undocumented fill materials, and seismic risks. Advanced solutions, such as lime stabilization, ensured site stability and sustainability. By minimizing environmental impact, repurposing materials, and streamlining costs, SCI delivered innovative and cost-effective results while adhering to budget and timeline goals.

This project, which introduced 81 single-family homes and essential retail services, exemplifies collaboration and engineering excellence, enriching both the community and the local economy. The redevelopment addresses Crestwood’s social and economic needs by providing access to vital services such as groceries, healthcare, and housing, while also generating job opportunities to boost the local economy.
